....I am not looking for a New York Times bestseller author. Nor a potential Putlizer Prize winner. Neither am I trying to discover the next JK Rowling or Judith McNaught.
The success of proJect pinK can only take off - if a girl dares to dream and see her works in print. It will never come to fruition - if every female blogger thinks that her work is not "good" enough. If you can blog, you have already fulfilled the most important criteria of this project.
I am looking for stories. Stories that make good reading. Stuff that you share on your blogs. The musings you blog about. The experiences that you have shared so openly on the world wide web.
proJect pinK is never going to be a super blockbuster with millions in the making. It was not the objective in the first place.
No. It's is a little project that aims to bring together the women of the blogosphere - and compile some of their favourite entries. It's a mini dream to showcase the female bloggers who are bold enough to share their lives and stories so openly to the entire world.
Now if blogging is never an issue - where there is absolute zero control on the internet, why would putting some stories that you have wrote before on a book be so daunting?
Even if your stories are not saucy or juicy or mind-blowing, it's really not important. It is who you are that is significant to the project. I want to read the heartfelt stories you blog about. I want to share the joys you experience in some of your memories. I want to encapsulate your thoughts when you are feeling lousy.
If it's good enough to be shared online, it will definitely make it into this book. I want real women, with real stories to tell, who sometimes may live out another life through a URL.
For every girl who knows about proJect pinK but shys away from it, for whatever reasons, I am one step nearer to aborting this dream. To be honest, I am already quite disheartened by the many "Oh it's a great project but I don't think my stories are good enough so I will not participate" comments. I have always thought if a group of like-minded people form an allegiance to pursue a common goal, nothing is impossible. Especially more so if it's made up of confident, sincere and real women like the many who have been reading this blog.
Maybe I was wrong.
I appreciate all the "moral support" given to this dream - and am humbled by the many who think that this effort is applaudable. But if all positive encouragement only boils down to zero submission, this project in my opinion - is a total failure - and should be buried deep and never be spoken of ever again.
So here's my plea - Don't judge your own works even before I am given a chance to read it. proJect pinK can only go as far as the women behind it.
So for heaven's sake, please........ just submit your stories already. :)

A woman's face is her work of fiction." ~ Oscar Wilde

yah, i know wat you mean. There's nothing to lose and everything to gain just by sending it in. If it gets printed, great! There's a certain pride when you see your work get published n your byline right next to it. Hope you see more entries.
To be honest, it sounds like me...my stories, heartwarming, not saucy not juicy, real stories, real women...then there's the catch
Like other women, they feel its good enuff only to blog it but not to participate nevertheless gets published...
Sometimes they need lots and lots of support, morally and emotionally...
well, for my case, I'm just a supporter, I truly cant although I hv the substances...just wish ur project all the very best and may it suceed..
Most people are perhaps their own worst crtics.
This issue aside, I tried to get you Tomorrow-ed, but apparently it seems the articles I have been submiting tends to get discarded into the trash.
maybe you would like to surf thru others' blogs and invite those whom you think might fit the criteria to write an article for you?
hmn... don't be discouraged la. Not every good writer wants to publish their writings, especial those that are personal. Money or fame is not everything. In fact, it might kill the joy of writing if money or fame is the motivation.
Just my thoughts. Wish you every success. :)
Don't get discouraged ... people tend to be naturally reticent (and unreliable) ... which is why I always depend only on myself.
I admire and envy those who are willing to risk asking others for their help and contribution.
I suggest you might want to consider simply ripping stories off people's blogs. As a boss once told me, "Ask for foregiveness not for permission." - sadly, that is not my style.
You might also consider contacting Anita at her blog, she writes very well and about two weeks ago poured out her heart.
Another thing I recently read, "If you can't make money without money, you can't make money with money."
"Oh it's a great project but I don't think my stories are good enough so I will not participate"
you are right, some people just want to see things happen but dun wish to participate
Erm, guys can chup or not?
Thank you all for your encouragement. It means a lot to me..... :)
Submissions have been slow, so I am still hoping the women bloggers would try and support this li'l insignificant project....
I understand that many of you do not wanna participate due to personal reasons.
Maybe I have not made myself clear. The book will only list the stories, your blogger nick as well as your blog URL.
It will not feature your real name, or personal details whatsoever. I need some of these details for my own files so that if this book really takes off - I can PAY you! But if it bothers you so much, you can still choose not to reveal your true identity. What you see in the book will be what appears on your blog! :)
Does that help ease some of your worries and fears?
Virgin: Yes men can chup. Just submit your entries...read my comments for project pink. It will be the next project I will work on after project pink - provided the girls do not disappoint me.....
Hi, Elvina!! Sorry I only just saw yr posting about Project Pink, DUN CALL IT OFF or esle i cant submit my musings! Will need a few days though to select some of my favorites for ya, can wait ya? wont take too long, i promise!!!
Pip: Thank you so much for believing in this. Of course I can wait.... :)
Hey Elvina, no wonder your project is slow in taking off, you call it "li'l insignificant project". What lady in her right mind would waste her resources on a "li'l insignificant project" even though there's payment involved? A revamp in choice of words might improve matters?
Just my two cents. However, let me wish you success.
Hi Elvina, I would really love to take part in your project pink! But I have no existing interesting entries, so I was thinking of writing one, and that takes time, so I will definitely pass it to you once it's done!
Is there any deadline by the way? I know you'd love for this to get on as quickly as possible, but just would like to know... Will definitely support your project! =)
