Mood Colour: Blue

I am feeling shitty today. In fact, I've been so blue for the last week.

Family: Extremely strained. Irreparable.

Friends: Neglected them. Guilty.

Work: More Projects. Less time.

Health: Visibly weaker. Tired.

Personal: Feels misunderstood. Unappreciated.

I don't wanna talk about it.

For every blue days, there are always bright and shiny days. For every rainy days, there are always rainbows after that =0)

Try this out - keep your mind off other things http://www.borrett.id.au/computing/petals-j.htm

If you get frustrated, don't kill me..the clue is in the name of the game.. cheers...

You need down time, give yourself a small treat to reward yourself!

Hmmm … I rather like the colour blue (and Tania says it is her favourite colour, Jason likes green).

You know, you are not alone, quite a number of blogs I’ve been visiting over the past two weeks or so are posting similar things – so it seems to be something going around.

Let’s look at things one by one:

Family: no family is perfect. Even the family I grew up in had its problems. Eventually, my mother left my dad 12 years ago and spent more than a year living with me (in a tiny one-bedroom apartment). Fortunately, things got resolved and they got back together again. I don’t believe anything is ever reconcilable, but certainly, some problems are very hard to deal with.

Friends: often I feel neglected by friends – it seems I have to do all the work. Sure, I suppose I could pick up the phone or arrange something, but let’s face it, sometimes it would be nice for others to take the initiative. I feel that perhaps I put more emphasis on friendships because I grew up in a small family (2 parents, 1 brother, 1 sister – no relatives) unit.

Work: Hey! As you said, just do it. One thing I’ve noticed as I get older is that it is better to just do the job, get feedback and adjust, rather than try to do it perfect the first time (mind you, there is no excuse for total incompetence).

Health: this is important. One observation about you from this side of the planet is that you never seem to sleep. Get to bed earlier. Tiredness leads to generally negative feelings. I know because I’ve been there. I try as much as possible to get adequate rest so I don’t go back to being melancholic. As well, make sure your diet is healthy. Think of your health like you bank account. When your health is good, it is like having money in the bank. When you start doing silly things like drinking too much, eating poorly, not sleeping enough, or whatnot, it is like making withdrawals from your account. Eventually, your balance becomes $0 or even overdrawn and your health starts to falter. If you have ever been in debt, you know how hard it is to recover from it. It is the same with health.

Personal: Again, if you can work on improving your health and get more rest, this should pass as well. Until then you can listen to:

The Animals
Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood
We Gotta To Get Out Of This Place
It’s My Life

Bif Naked
Tango Shoes
I Love Myself Today
Leader

Muddy Waters
I’m Ready

George Thorogood
Howling For My Baby

I usually find those songs help to lift my spirits (or at least console me) – maybe it’s a guy thing.

I appreciate you and have missed your comments on my blog (yeah, yeah, I know you recently left some).

From Bif Naked’s October Song

if i fall out of my nest
will you pick me up, will you help me fly
if i fall out of my nest
will you show me love
if i'm in over my head
will you pick me up will you help me out
if i'm in over my head
will you show me love

its cold baby, its cold baby
i need your love to get me through this time
lonely, october song
i am a bleeding heart
lonely, october song
help me i'm falling apart

i can't seem to find anyone
who hasn't fallen, fallen down
i can't seem to find to anyone unlike
a crispy leaf on the ground
there are leaves all around

if i'm blind and lose my way
will you walk with me, will you help me see
if i'm blind and lose my way
will you show me love
if i'm incarcerated
will you bust me out, will you set me free
if i'm incarcerated
will you show me love

its cold baby, its cold baby
i need your love to get me through this time
lonely, october song
i am a bleeding heart
lonely, october song
help me i'm falling apart

i can't seem to find anyone
who hasn't fallen, fallen down
i can't seem to find to anyone unlike
a crispy leaf on the ground
there are leaves all around

if i fall out of my nest
and if i'm in over my head
if i'm blind and lose my way
if i'm incarcerated

if i fall out of my nest (its cold baby, its cold baby)
and if i'm in over my head (its cold baby, its cold baby)
if i'm blind and lose my way (its cold baby, its cold baby)
if i'm incarcerated (its cold baby, its cold baby)

i can't seem to find anyone
who hasn't fallen, fallen down
i can't seem to find to anyone unlike
a crispy leaf on the ground
there are leaves all around

i can't seem to find anyone
who hasn't fallen, fallen down
i can't seem to find to anyone unlike (its cold baby)
a crispy leaf on the ground (its cold baby)
there are leaves all around

Maybe you should change your avatar until you feel better, seeing you smiling from the upper right corner does not jive with your mood.

Blue is my favorite color too. :) But, Elvina, I like to show you the Rainbows.

Richard, that's a good recommendation, "Maybe you should change your avatar until you feel better".

Hey everyone. Thanks for all the nice comments you have left for me. Reading them already made a difference.

Richard - thanks for the encouragement and all the songs. Some of them are actually my favourites, in fact.

I understand everything you are trying to say to me. Sometimes, life feels like living out Murphy's Law. Bad things happen one after another. You feel like there's no way out. Trapped.

Bee - as always, lovely poem you've got there. Hope I can find it in me to write my poems again.

But with peeps like every single one of you reading this blog, I should be able to pick myself up. Your concern means a lot to me. It may take time - but ya...I will soon be smiling like my avatar...so I won't be changing it.

Thanks for being here.

I guess most poets, if not all, compose their poem in their extreme emotions. For me it's the same... when things are smooth and my mood is stable, I can't compose any poem. Maybe I b'cos I don't spend too much time to reflect or feel. :P

So if you can't compose any, then life is just too smooth for you. :) That's a good 'problem'. But such 'problem' won't last... inspiration will come again.

Take it easy. There's never a forever thing. Tough times don't last. Tough people like yourself do :)

Chill Elvina, if Egypt could make peace with Israel then, no relationships are truly irreparable.

Anyway, shit happens, there're mood -upswings and downswings from time to time in everyone's life. From what i learnt from coursework at least (yes, i'm totally obsessed with mugging now), u just gotta hedge against ur moodiness. Plan for a holiday and go for it when u're down, or simply splurge on a toy boy for some cathartic fun as a sex object or human action figure/barbie doll or what not. Whatever that cheers u up and you'll be fine! =p

Hope everything looks up soon ya?
Apparently alot of people are having their "downs" now. Hang in there. where there are downs, there'll be ups.

Hey Elvina, though I haven't been leaving many messages here, just would like to encourage you to hang in there till it passes! There is light at the end of the tunnel, as I'm very sure you know. ;) Take care!
